The joy of giving equals the excitement of receiving

Positivity 4 Progress wish one and all an amazing 2014 filled with happiness, health and safety.

As we enjoy celebrations with friends and family and contemplate the year unfolding pay attention to the present moment and give gratitude for all that we have, especially the small things.

We encourage you all to share our story as it unfolds. As Griffith, the heart of our project, will set a new benchmark in 2014 by stimulating and revitalising our Commercial outlets before taking our project to other locations.

"the joy of giving equals the excitement of receiving"

Name 4 our Business

"The one thing we want to give our new business is an honorable name"

Our name will personify our service to the community. It will inspire trust, and help us achieve our goals, it will reflect our business philosophy, our culture and will appeal to our target market, it is unique both online and offline.

We have chosen a name and researched its availability on the;
            Australian Business Registry
            U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
            Netregistry for our Domain name

When we were sure it was free we applied for an ABN with ASIC then registered our business name (YAY). We are on the move! "positively progressing forward".

After receiving our Business Registration we immediately purchased our preferred Domain name as well as 5 other combinations of our name to prevent copycat business' encroaching on our customer base.

We are getting close but before we can reveal our name we will apply for Trademark Protection on our name and logo as our name is the most valuable asset we have at the moment and it's worth protecting!

"Our name is not about us, it's about our local community,

It's not what we do, but why we do it"

Support 4 Women

"Never underestimate the difference YOU can make in the lives of others. Step forward, reach out and help. This week reach out to someone that might need a lift"
Pablo

From the onset of our project we decided to support a charity in some small way,
then as we grow, so shall our support.

At the time of our discussion it was "International Women's Day". As we are 4 women, endeavouring to make a difference for our local community, it seemed befitting this is where we would start.

This week, we have put together a small hamper of items that we feel are uplifting and will hopefully give someone encouragement to  move forward from whatever is holding them back.

The hamper was delivered to our local women's refuge with love and support from the girls behind Positivity 4 Progress.

"Step forward, reach out and help"

Ideas 4 Christmas

Here's an idea.........

Let's buy Christmas presents from small local businesses and self-employed people, for example from your neighbour who sells online, a local crafts person who makes jewellery, the stunning local florist shop, the local markets that do home-made cakes, buns and chocolates. The guy that runs a coffee shop or salon. A gift voucher from your local yoga studio. Let's make sure your money goes to individual people and not multinational companies. This way, more local people will have a better Christmas.
Support real people!!!!!

Like or share if you think this is an awesome way to show community support.

Noticing the Signs

Everybody has a great idea when they hop into the shower but how many people follow through with their great idea?

In September this year we decided to close the office for a week as two of the girls had children home on school holidays. As it was a quiet time at work I harnessed the opportunity to enjoy some R & R and on the final day of work V was telling me about this fantastic book she was reading and how inspiring it was so, as G always says, "IT'S A SIGN" I grabbed the book, "Savvy" by Rachael Birmingham, author of the famous Four Ingredients cook books, for a measly $16 at Target and eagerly started reading. Half way through the book I was feeling a tad dismayed and wondering what in the world I could create to start a business, and like a bolt of lightening it hit me! (Strangely enough it was when hopping into the shower one morning) I could develop a business that would support all local businesses in our home town of Griffith and divert the majority of Internet shopping back to our local community.

This is where the planning begins! After imagining the endless possibilities with my idea I took it to work and discussed it with everyone at work, It was unanimous, we would work together using Griffith as the platform, the retail and commercial industry as the recipient,
and the community conscious as the heart of our project and "project X" was born.

The first sign was acknowledging the introduction to "Savvy".

The second sign was a mere random thought when hopping into the shower.
The third sign was the positive response from work.

So! I can say I am  listening to "THE SIGNS" and following through!

Office 4 Four

"Our success depends on the calculation of how much time do we spend converting our extraordinary thinking into extraordinary doing"

Take one fantastic idea, two hours per week, three amazing employees, four ordinary women,  a pleasant work environment and I calculate that within one year these will be the ingredients that will fuel our success.

Our office staff came together out of the necessity to maintain what little sanity I had left after working from home for thirty years while raising 4 children and running our business, while I enjoyed the years working from home I found I was drowning in paperwork and forever glued to my computer. Having the absolute worst filing skills I decided to rent an office space and employ help, which has turned out to be one of my better decisions.

Now I find myself extremely fortunate to work alongside three incredibly patient and resourceful co-workers where we all share the administration  of my four family businesses. We live in regional NSW and have a fantastic working relationship. We share some extremely funny stories during our days together at the office as well as support each other when things get a little crazy. Between the four of us we are able to work through any challenge that arises as our individual office skills compliment the other, almost like the perfect marriage!

After two inspiring years of working together we are now embarking on a new challenge with "Positivity 4 Progress" being our driving force, our local community the heart of our project, and women like us encouraged to .......

Follow their dreams and convert their extraordinary thinking into extraordinary doing!

Reason 4 Blogging

We have decided to enter the world of blogging as a means to an end. The end oddly enough will actually be the beginning for us where we will launch the most innovative and exciting new business plan that will undoubtedly go global as the fastest growing business of modern times. So we have decided to take you the reader on a journey with us from day 1, as we brainstorm, investigate, register, create, establish and implement our plan to the day where we will launch our business by using all local resources (where ever possible), using social media and no funds to begin our journey.

Our experience with social media between the four of us is zilch

Our enthusiasm is enormous

Our excitement is overwhelming

Our commitment is 100%

Between myself and my three favorite female co-worker we hope to inspire, inform and entertain you as we document the processes we work through on our journey as we utilise social media as a platform to build a business from the initial idea to taking it to the consumer, first locally, then nationally and finally internationally.

We all have much to learn and it all seems incredibly daunting but with the power of four females working together I am 100% positive that we will succeed and hopefully inspire others to live their dreams as we create a new business.......
